We tested and researched Originality.ai, a tool that offers an AI detector, a plagiarism checker, a fact checker, and more to help writers and businesses publish content that is authentic and trustworthy.
Based on our findings and reviews on TrustPilot.com and ProductHunt.com, Originality.ai is similar to its competitors in that it’s able to detect both GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 written text. It also has a comparable overall accuracy of 76%.
However, many reviews also point out that Originality.ai’s high rate of false positives is problematic, as it incorrectly marks human-written text as AI-generated. This issue, which we also noticed, is not as evident in other tools that were tested.
